Antipodes is thrilled with the results of leading beauty blogger Allison Zhu’s livestreaming event on her Weibo page to promote its 11.11 sale, which had nearly 2 million views.
The Shanghai influencer was live for an hour on the Chinese social media platform to talk about Antipodes’ premium natural and certified organic skincare and makeup, answer questions, and give advice on how best to use it.
She showed her viewers how Oriental Bay Plum, one of her favourite shades from the brand’s healthy Moisture-Boost Natural Lipstick range, changes to a brighter colour as it is layered, in a bid to encourage people to try darker hues.
During the livestream, Allison – a long-time devotee of the New Zealand beauty brand – had 1,958,000 views, with a peak audience of 215,000. There were more than 1560 comments and hundreds of questions, with her Chinese fans keen to discover her product recommendations for dry, sensitive and oily skin conditions, and be reassured the products are safe for pregnant women.
She also gave away four products to the fastest responders to her questions: Hosanna H20 Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum, Ananda Antioxidant-Rich Gentle Toner, Aura Manuka Honey Mask, and a Moisture-Boost Natural Lipstick.
To help build awareness and hype around the redesigned Antipodes store on Alibaba’s Tmall Global site, Allison talked about the Gucci ‘Queen Margaret’ handbag and wallet that two lucky Antipodes’ shoppers will win during the 24-hour shopping carnival on Saturday November 11.
